In advance of next month’s live webcast of a live donor kidney transplant from MUSC in Charleston, we’ve updated VirtualSurgery.tv to include the two most recent projects as well as updated sample clips and teacher resource materials. The site is a portal for the project, produced for the SC Hospital Association in conjunction with the SC Department of Education. You can see the site here.

This 60-second broadcast spot is the second part of this year’s statewide drunk driving enforcement blitz. Produced for the SC Department of Public Safety with our partners at Fisher Communications, the spot continues the storyline captured in DUI: Episode 1. Capturing the look and feel of a popular television series, we set out to produce a PSA that stands out as a condensed glimpse into the next hour of a DUI arrest.
Of course, hanging out at the county jail is always interesting as well. You can see both spots here on Vimeo. And you can also see behind the scenes pictures from the shoot here or on our Facebook page.

We recently delivered the 3rd Edition of the 6 DVD set of Sol y viento, the college level Spanish course offered by McGraw-Hill Higher Education. Working with our partners at Truth Function, these ancillary materials remain at the forefront of language instruction in the college market, basing learning through an exciting introductory program that seamlessly integrates the feature length film into the instructional experience.
Based upon a feature length dramatic movie shot in three countries, the DVD’s contain over 6 hours of video lessons. You can learn more about other language projects we’ve worked on here.

This is the fourth year we’ve produced a 60-second broadcast Christmas spot for Lexington Medical Center. And this year we created a comical take on men unsuccessfully demonstrating their handiwork with decorations around the house.
You can see the spot now on YouTube, we should be posting some behind-the-scenes pictures soon.
Just remember to take it easy this year, have a safe and Merry Christmas.

ConstantNow traveled to Georgetown, SC last week to shoot the first segments for their new Virtual Hospital program, created for the SC Hospital Association.
This project is devoted to delivering a look inside the many aspects of patient care within a modern hospital. The linear, web-based video program will give SC students an interactive look into the daily lives of the people on the front lines of healthcare, highlighting an assortment of departments and professionals in their work environments. The story lines will revolve around the professionals describing what they do and how they fit into the overall scheme of individual patient care.
Each segment follows key members of a department as they address “real” cases, what they are doing, and allow the audience to become a virtual job shadow for their career. Location production will continue through the fall in several SC hospitals, check back for further updates.

A new 60-second broadcast spot, produced for the SC Dept. of Public Safety with our partners at Fisher Communications began airing this week. Capturing the look and feel of a popular television series, we set out to produce a PSA that would stand out as a condensed glimpse into the first hour of a DUI arrest. And it’s not every shoot that you get to bring a bunch of beer and set up a bar scene at the DPS training center….
The first spot in this year’s statewide enforcement blitz, we’re looking forward to producing Episode 2 soon…. We’ll post it on our site soon, in the meantime you can see it on YouTube.

We just posted the updated Specialminds.org website. Specialminds is an organization dedicated to providing information and multimedia resources that offer immediate assistance to families and professionals dealing with the everyday issues that come with a diagnosis of an autistic spectrum disorder.
Working with our close friends at Specialminds, we redesigned their web presence and completely reworked the packaging and DVD interfaces for Storymovies, the DVD series based on Carol Gray’s renowned “Social Stories” book series. New discs in the series are in production, so look for continued updates.

Late last summer, I had the opportunity to visit the set of “Encounters”, a Chinese language project produced by our friends at Truth Function for Yale University. Shot on location across China, I joined the crew half way through with fresh supplies and to pick up footage shot up to that point.
The area of southern China I visited is near Guilin, about 200 miles from the Vietnam border. A tourist town visited for the limestone mountains, Yangshuo was filled with Chinese tourists, restaurants, street vendors and nightlife. Crew referred to it as the Gatlinburg of China.
Also had the chance to follow the “C” Unit crew to the Longji Rice Terraces, a pretty amazing place. Local ethnic group has been carving the terraces since 1300 AD, the magnitude of it was unreal. The village at the top is only accessible by walking 45 minutes up the main path. Everything up there was brought by hand.

As part of the project, ConstantNow created an array of marketing materials for the new program that strives to teach Mandarin Chinese through language and culture. You can see the original marketing video here.

ConstantNow recently completed Self Regional Healthcare’s Physician recruiting presentation. Working with Self’s current graphic style, we built an eye catching and dynamic presentation geared towards attracting new physicians to the Greenwood, SC area. Our approach was to create a new, Flash-based version of the presentation that’s much more streamlined than the original.
